Neston Female Society was founded in 1814.  It was originally formed as Neston Female Friendly Society by the ladies of the town to provide support for one another in times of need.   The Society's annual 'Ladies Day Walk' takes place on the first Thursday in June each year.

 A number of local groups and organisations are working closely with Neston Female Society to co-ordinate celebrations of the 200th Anniversary of Neston Ladies Day, both for the Heritage Project and the day itself. They are:
